Cingular UMTS In Philadelphia, PA - USA
September 06, 2006;
Owners of UMTS enabled Windows Mobile phones - like HTC Hermes and HTC Universal - can connect to UMTS and can transfer files and browse Internet with higher speeds!

Cingular activated UMTS in the Philadelphia, PA Market this afternoon. Users have noticed, that their HTC Hermes Pocket PC phones went from "G" to "U" (in title bar) and users have been getting download speeds of 800 - 900kbps+ via dslreports.com

Interstingly in-building penetration is weak - users get 1-2 bars in in house (indoors) when on UMTS (compared to 4 or more @ 850) but 4+ bars outside.
