Orange launches next generation mobile communication services in UK and France December 06, 2004; Operators in EU are launching 3G seriously before Christmas 2004... and Orange is one of them. Orange 3G offers consumers:
“Today’s launch of commercial 3G services marks a major step for Orange and the France Telecom Group in delivering to our customers our vision of the mobile broadband experience. Having undertaken extensive trials, we are now in a position to deliver the 3G experience our customers expect - world-class products and services combined with dedicated 3G customer support and competitive pricing. “Orange was the first operator to demonstrate wireless broadband in Europe five years ago in Bristol. Today we are offering our customers in the UK and France access to the largest integrated 2G/3G network in those countries as well as 3G roaming in six others. And there is much more to come as we use 3G and EDGE to bring this broadband mobility experience to our customers in many countries across our footprint. “As of today, customers in France will be able to experience the future of converged communications by making video calls between mobile, fixed-line and the internet. But this is just the beginning as France Telecom continues to leverage the strengths of all its group businesses to provide customers with broadband communication services - how they want them, where they want them, when they want them.” Credit: David Ogle from Orange UK.
