Fixed Mobile convergence
October 08, 2004;
Increasing signs of support for fixed-mobile convergence

This year has seen renewed and heightened interest in fixed-mobile convergence from global operators and technology vendors. Telecoms industry watchers will be keen to assess the new services being rolled out by BT and Vodafone in 2005. Further, leading operators have come together to form the Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance, established to accelerate the development of FMC products and services to the millions of customers served by its founding members.

Osney Media is the leading UK Company that specialises in organising interactive, discussion-based events specifically aimed at high level strategists. They are hosting the inaugural Fixed Mobile Convergence Forum from the 9th-10th December 2004 at London’s Marriott West India Quay. This event offers global operators and service providers a platform to assess the opportunities and competitive threats creating this new push towards converged services. The FMC forum is a unique opportunity since it is the first opportunity to get together with all of the key players who are driving this market, and will allow you to contextualise operators’ and vendors’ convergence strategies and to gain competitive advantage by meeting prospective partners and key first-to-market FMC evangelists.

Expert panellists lending their experience and insights to the forum include:

Steve Andrews, Group Chief, Mobility and Convergence, BT; Ryan Jarvis, Chairman, Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance; Sandy Brown, VP Wireless Integration, AT&T Business; Andy Niemack, Head of Retail, Swisscom Fixnet, David Erlich, VP Product Innovations, Mass Market Division, Cegetel; Tomas

David, Chief Strategy Officer, Eurotel Praha, Paul Strasser, Head of Strategy and Development, TDC Switzerland.

This event will not feature long presentations and marketing-led slideware. Instead, participants will gain from a highly interactive round-table format that facilitates genuinely constructive discussion and networking. The event is intended to work at the strategic level, acting as a catalyst for change across the telecoms industry. Places at this event are limited and people who are prospective participants are strongly recommended to reserve their places now. Online booking forms can be found at www.fixed-mobile-convergence.com.
