Similarly like Nokia's power was created as result of inferiority complex of Finns against Swedes and in contrast to Ericsson, the same happens in Korea, where Korean corporations for years had one purpose: to beat their Japanese counterparts. Similarly like Finland was occupied by Sweden, Korea was occupied by Japan, so you see that history repeats itself...

According to latest research Samsung (Korea) is soon to overtake Motorola (USA) and Samsung will thus be second largest cell phone vendor in the world. Apart from that LG (Korea) is soon to overtake Siemens (Germany) and thus will LG will be one of 5 biggest cell phone vendors.

While Taiwanese and Chinese cell phone vendors mainly manufacture cell phones for other brands, the Koreans have succesfully created their own brands and Samsung being super-corporation that produces almost everything, has big chances also to become number one cell phone vendor in a bit longer term and thus beat Nokia.
