Besides these existing products, BenQ will initiate the mobile phones product line from the second quarter of this year. According to Jerry Wang, vice president of BenQ’s marketing-development office, BenQ’s handset products will cut into from the middle-end market and move up to the high-end part, with the prices ranging from USD200 to USD600. The sales areas cover the UK, France, Spain, Italy and the East European countries. Sources point out that one of BenQ’s new models has a great multimedia functions along with 1.3 million pixels has attracted orders from O2, the European telecom operator. The deliveries have started last mid-April and O2 is planning to introduce the new product in mid-May. BenQ will make its way to the Italian mobile-phone market with P30, its first smart-handset scheduled in July.
