Multimedia processor chip VC01 from Alphamosaic to be used in SCH-V4200 cell phone from Samsung

New mobile phones incorporating VideoCore technology confirm leading edge position

Confirmation that Alphamosaic’s VideoCore technology is rapidly establishing itself as the leading provider of low power, high quality multimedia processing for mobile phones has been given a further boost.

The company has announced that resulting from its technology collaboration agreement, its multimedia processor chip, VC01, has been used by the global electronics giant, Samsung, for the second multimedia phone in the past three months.

The phones, which carry the code name SCH-V4200 have been manufactured by Samsung for the Korean market and the network operator KTF. The SCH-V4200 mobile phone incorporates advanced features including: MP3, a megapixel class camera and movie recorder/playback.

Says Jalal Bagherli, CEO at Alphamosaic: “VideoCore is becoming the industry standard not only because of its versatility and performance characteristics, but also because of Alphamosaic’s industry-leading middleware which makes it easy for manufacturers to integrate our products into their designs.”
