Video interview with John Starkweather from Microsoft published
August 17, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
Johh Starkweather is located now in Singapore but he operates globally and is influencing development of Windows Mobile 7 too. While this interview does not include something totally new - after all Microsoft is now working behind the scenes on Windows Mobile 7 and new Internet Explorer with Flash, etc. - it is worth watching.
Some topics from this interview:
- official title of John Starkweather at Microsoft is International Director of Product Management (sounds like "International Man of Mystery") and he is working for Microsoft for 5 years already
- history of Windows Mobile is discussed, up to Windows Mobile 6.1
- Samsung Omnia is presented, that has 5 megapixel camera with smile detection, 8-16 GB of memory and tilt sensor
- HTC Touch Diamond is presented
- Samsung i780 running Windows Mobile 7 is sighted
