HTC Touch Diamond approved by FCC for use in USA July 30, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Some American websites have imported European/Asian versions of HTC Touch Diamond and falsely represented it as no good, but in reality... ... users in USA should not be buying HTC Touch Diamond from overseas but instead should wait for American version! American approval organization FCC has just published documents related to testing of HTC Touch Diamond. These documents indicate that American version of HTC Touch Diamond will support all American bands, both 2G (GSM, GPRS/EDGE) and 3G (UMTS, HSDPA/HSUPA). Since nowadays number of 3G bands globally increased and no manufacturer offers all 3G bands in one phone, HTC decided to have 2 separate devices for American and European/Asian markets. HTC Touch Diamond is well worth working for: it is very small but it features high-resolution display (640x480 pixels), high-quality camera with autofocus and 3 megapixels, GPS, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a fantastic new feature - tilt sensor! While HTC still has not announced exactly when HTC Touch Diamond is coming to USA (parts of FCC documentation will be released from secrecy in August and some other parts in October) we advise everybody in USA to be patient and not to buy non-American HTC Touch Diamond!
