Windows Mobile developers leave Handango March 29, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. Here at msmobiles.com we have been exposing Handango for many years already, also then when nobody else was doing it, but now also others discover Handango's true face... Soti company that is making remote viewing software for Windows Mobile (no longer offered by Microsoft itself for latest Windows Mobile versions) is "seriously considering" to "dump" Handango as online store, through which end customers can buy their software. Mobile software business is challenging enough and Handango, that has dominating market position when it comes to mobile software stores, recently even more increased their revenue share - to 50-70% depending on the location of the developer. While Microsoft officially cares about independent software developers (ISVs) in reality it is directing traffic to Handango through their Windows marketplace and Microsoft is offering certain software titles for purchase only through Handango. Time is ripe also for Microsoft to terminate any relationship with Handango. Our advice to all developers and to all end users: never buy or sell software through Handango! To learn more see email from Burce Wayne from Soti.
