CeBIT 2008: Asus March 06, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Asus has it all! And at CeBIT 2008 it presented several new Windows Mobile phones too, including stylish Lamborghini phone (for car fans) and fantastic M536 that offers QWERTY keyboard for single-handed usage, 320x320 touch-screen combined with 3.5G power, WiFi and fingerprint sensor! Core business of Asus are motherboards for PC computers and some of their motherboards are the most popular in the world... and they also sell notebooks, including the incredibly popular Eee PC micro-notebook! ... so by offering Windows Mobile phones they can utilize big synergy effects. Instead of posting 20 news items about Asus at CeBIT we post just one with many photos (including exact specifications as given by Asus and not invented)! First let's take a look at this fantastic car that was present at stand of Asus:
You can see around this car mini-stands with notebooks from Asus with Lamborghini styling. One of these mini-stands (3rd from the left) was presenting Windows Mobile phone - Asus Lamborghini ZX1, that supports both 3.5G (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps) and built-in GPS (naturally!):
Specifications and more photos of Lamborghini ZX1 below:
For us the hit of CeBIT 2008 from Asus was Asus M536 phone:
... that has QWERTY keyboard for single-handed usage:
... and mini-USB connector (instead of proprietary one like in Samsung i780):
Here are more photos of Asus MP536:
Here is Asus P320 (highlights: small size and built-in GPS):
Here is Asus P550 (highlight: UMTS only, no HSDPA):
Here is Asus P527 (highlights: cellphone-style keypad, built-in GPS):
Here is Asus P750 (highlights: built-in GPS, fast HSDPA 3.6 Mbps):
Here is Asus P560 (highlight: 3 megapixel camera with autofocus):
Conclusion: Asus presents several Windows Mobile phones and almost everybody can find for herself/himself something suitable. Since the slogan of Asus is "rock solid" we hope that their Windows Mobile phones also are reliable. Anyway now Asus offers HSDPA, touch-screen and single-handed QWERTY keyboard too, so indeed it offers form factor that some other manufacturers still don't offer. Finally if you already have Asus notebook you should get yourself also Asus Windows Mobile phone!
