Update: Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone has Delete All functionality after all May 20, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 6. In contradiction with our previous article that stated that Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone did not have 'Delete All' functionality for Text Messages, we have uncovered the feature on a real device running Windows Mobile 5.0. The feature is slightly buried in the options, a good design decision, as it is not an action that should be accidentally performed. The feature has been verified on both a Smartphone running Windows Mobile 5.0, and the emulator.
![]() The feature is thoughtfully placed in the folder management screen, and is only available for the Text Messages account. Outlook Email accounts do not have the option to delete all messages. To 'Clear Text Messages', open the menu from the Text Message Folder screen, and select the 'Folders' option. ![]() When you are at the Folders screen, of the Text Messages account, open the menu again, and the bottom option will be 'Cleat Text Messages'. ![]() Selecting the option will ask you if you are sure you want to permanently delete all of the messages in the folder. Answering yes to this screen will delete all of the messages in the Text Messages folder. ![]() Conclusion: In contradiction to our previous article stating the opposite, Windows Mobile 5.0 based Smartphone's do in fact support a 'Delete All' functionality for Text Messages. We have verified the features' functionality on a real device running Windows Mobile 5.0. - by Adam Further questions regarding Windows Mobile 5.0 on real hardware should be directed to our anonymous feedback form, or you can simply post a commment for this article!
