HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger without GPS but with built-in Wi-Fi (!!!) and built-in Bluetooth is coming ! February 25, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Thanks to yet another FCC scoop we are happy to announce that this summer (after June) HP will release yet another iPAQ Mobile Messenger Pocket PC phone. The new one will be h6700 series and will have the same external construction as h6500 series (see here for our exclusive photos of h6500 and here for our exclusive audio interview with HP about h6500), that is coming to market in second half of April, 2005. After releasing h6300 series of Pocket PC phones everybody was dissapointed with HP but this year HP apparently has plans to change this opinion completely!!! With very nice Pocket PC phones with built-in Qwerty keyboard (treo-style - fixed, not slide-out) with built-in GPS (h6500) or built-in Wi-Fi (h6700) HP will be able to succesfully compete with Treo !!!
Manager from HTC (Hight Tech Computer, Corp. - the same that makes many other Pocket PC phones and smartphones and that is manufacturing also HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger phones for HP) writes in FCC request: We are requesting the commision to grant short-term confidentiality request on the following attachments until June 30, 2005. External Photos Internal Photos Test Setup Photos User Manual SAR Test Report RF Test Report ... so clearly the release date of this phone is not before the end of June 2005! Possible specifications:
