Feature by feature OBJECTIVE comparison of Motorola MPx220 and Orange SPV C500 (aka Qtek 8010, etc) or which Microsoft Smartphone to buy?
August 14, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.

Several British owned websites devoted to Microsoft Smartphone have obtained as a free gift from Orange operator an Orange SPV C500 cell phone, so now they (not MoDaCo though) are not objective but are just becoming an Orange sponsored Orange marketing machines that rather uncritically promote Orange product(s) rather than providing objective information.

In coming 1-2 months 2 great new models of Microsoft Smartphone are coming: Orange SPV C500 (sales in UK start August 19, 2004; it is known also under brand names Qtek 8010, Dopod 565 and i-mate Smarpthone 3) and Motorola MPx220 (to be available commercially in second half of September 2004). To give you possibility to decide objectively which model to buy, we are presenting 2 advisers: picture with size comparisons and table with detailed list of features of both phones.

As you can see on the picture below the Motorola MPx220 is bigger than Orange SPV C500 in all cases, apart from when it is closed (then height of MPx220 is a bit smaller than C500):

Here is a table with detailed list of features of these both phones (feature which without any doubts is better is marked by light-green color):
