Non-telephony features of cell phones powered by Microsoft software
Nowadays people use their cell phones not only as phones but also as tools for various purposes. Check out how useful your MS Smartphone or Pocket PC phone can be, even if you donīt use telephony!
Introduction
Why should you buy several electronic gadgets if you can have everything in one: in your Microsoft powered cell phone! Here we present some such non-telephony features of MS Smartphones and Pocket PC phones that can show you some additional benefits from having such phones.
Alarm clock
In Pocket PC phone (please note antenna symbol at the top of the screen):
... the alarm clock is superb! You can define 4 times and the alarm clock sound is very loud and accompanied with vibration alarm. Alarm clock in Pocket PC phone rocks!
MS Smartphone (here: Orange SPV) has a bit poorer alarm clock:
... where you can define only one time and the sound of the alarm is not so loud as in Pocket PC phone, but nonetheless it is enough to wake you.
Dictaphone (voice recording)
You can notice that again voice recording for Pocket PC phone has software-wise more features:
... where you can see that you can draw notes and record voice at the same time!
But in Pocket PC phone you can also record voice-only notes:
... which are denoted by loudspeaker symbol.
Maybe in MS Smartphone voice recording is not as fancy as in Pocket PC phone but at least you have recording button:
... which enables you one button voice recording (second button from the left on above picture). Most Pocket PC phones donīt have this button (as of now) and you need to tap on the touch screen to record.
After pressing of the above mentioned button in MS Smartphone you can immediately record:
... and the display of recording time is marked with very big letters!

Conclusions
Your cell phones powered by Microsoft software, without the need to install any additional software can replace many other tools that you used or would like to use! It is worth to know these non-telephony features of your phone so that you will be able to better utilize it.
